Why creators choose MiniMax H3 Max Recast

You have a performance you like, with the wrong people in it. Recast keeps everything about the video except who is in it: the movement, the gestures, the camera, the cuts and the sound. Give it the video and one photo of each new person, and it puts them in.

Keeps the original performance

Recast reads motion from the video itself, so a dance, a walk-and-talk or a product demo keeps its timing and body language. The camera moves the way it did, and cuts land where they did.

Tracks each person across cuts

Each new person replaces the same original person in every shot they appear in, so a multi-shot clip stays consistent without a separate pass per shot.

Up to four people in one pass

Swap a whole group at once. Photos replace the main people from left to right, or a one-line prompt says who becomes whom.

Keeps the soundtrack

The returned video carries the original audio, so dialogue, music and ambience stay in sync with the picture.

How to use MiniMax H3 Max Recast in Craze

  1. Upload the video you want to recast. Craze cuts anything over 30 seconds into clips and recasts each.
  2. Ask Craze to swap the people in it, or to have your character perform it. Share a photo of each new person, or describe them.
  3. Craze picks each person's reference. A photo that shows everything the video shows is used as it is. A headshot for a full-body video, or a person you only described, gets a character sheet first, which you review.
  4. Choose a resolution and Craze runs the recast.
  5. Review the result in the editor.

You can also run it yourself from the Models panel: choose Motion transfer, pick MiniMax H3 Max Recast, add the video and a picture for each person, and generate.

MiniMax H3 Max Recast pricing

Recast is priced by the length of your video at $0.316 per second of source video, at the resolution you pick. The photos are included, so swapping four people costs the same as swapping one.

MiniMax H3 Max Recast vs. other motion transfer models

Kling 3 Standard animates one picture of one character with a video's motion, building the shot from that picture, for well under Recast's price. Recast works the other way round: it keeps the original video's shot and swaps the people in it, up to four at a time, and it reads each photo or character sheet as who the person is rather than as the frame to animate.

Frequently asked questions

A video-to-video model from MiniMax that replaces the main people in a video with people from reference photos. It tracks each person across shots and keeps the original motion, gestures, camera work, shot timing and soundtrack.

Up to four. Give it one photo per new person. By default they replace the main people in the video from left to right, and a short prompt can say who becomes whom instead.

Each recast takes 5 to 30 seconds of video, with no single shot longer than 15 seconds. Give Craze a longer video and it cuts it into clips at its shot changes, recasts each one, and joins them back over the original sound. The result runs the same length as your video.

$0.316 per second of source video. The price follows the length of your video and the resolution you pick, and the photos cost nothing extra. Use the calculator on this page for an exact figure.

every Craze plan, including Free. Recasts draw on your credits, which you can top up on any plan, Free included.

768p or 1080p. The result keeps the framing of your original video.

When the video shows the whole body and your photo shows only a face, Craze draws a character sheet from your photo first, so the model knows how the rest of the person looks. You review the sheet before the recast runs.

No. Recast replaces people only, and turns away a video or photo with no person in it. Ask Craze to swap a product too and it recasts the people first, then swaps the product in with a video edit.

Yes. The recast video carries the soundtrack of the video you gave it.
